The History of the Phantasy Tour Phish

The Phantasy Tour began on November 10, 1992 as a one-night performance at the Providence Civic Center in Providence, Rhode Island. The show was billed as "A Evening with the Grateful Dead Tribute Band." The band featured Trey Anastasio on guitar and vocals, Page McConnell on keyboards and vocals, Rob Barraco on drums and vocals, and Jeff Chimenti on bass.

The tour quickly became popular and was extended multiple times. It made its debut at Madison Square Garden in New York City on October 5, 1993 and played over 200 shows before concluding in Barcelona, Spain on December 27 of that year.

Following the tour's conclusion, the members of the Phantasy Tour reunited to record an album together entitled "Halloween". The album was released in 1995 and featured guest appearances from members of Phish as well as other artists including 311's Chad Smith and Dave Matthews Band's Tim Reynolds.

In 2003, the tour was revived for a series of four shows at Tweeter Center in Mansfield, Massachusetts. These shows were recorded for release as a live album but were never released due to legal issues involving the band's former manager Paul Baranese.

In 2006, Trey Anastasio announced that he was planning a new Phantasy Tour consisting of 35 dates across North America beginning in May 2007. The tour featured many returning guests from previous tours such as Page McConnell, Rob Barraco, Mike Gordon and Jon Fishman but also welcomed newcomers like
